I started off the day with a friendly face at T5. Sonja, from the jetBlue marketing department was arriving from Los Angeles on the plane that was going to be my ride to Denver. After talking for a few minutes a fellow “all you can jetter” came over to say hi. Bec had just come in on a different redeye flight. She is using the all you can jet pass to visit family and friends all over the country. What a great start to the day!
Today I managed to get in a whole day in downtown Denver. My flight into Denver arrived at 10:15am and didn’t leave until after midnight.
I put my pack into a storage rental shop (surprisingly…it cost 3x more to store my bag in Denver than at JFK!) and heading into the city by bus. I was dropped off at a greyhound station in a “not so great” area of the city (more on that in another post). Once again, perfect weather.
I managed to check out the US mint, the courthouse and the capital building. While at the capital building I was in the middle of some health care plan protesters. Not sure what they stood for, because I was on a time schedule, but they sure did make enough noise with their bullhorns. In the afternoon, I headed over to Coors Field (home of the Colorado Rockies) for a tour of the stadium. We were taken everywhere…including the field and press box
(check out the picture of D Lee’s wall crushing foul ball into the press box!)
Ended up meeting some great people at a local place called Great Divide.
Jenny, Jeremy, and his girlfriend (sorry, I forgot your name!) were great hosts for Denver.
The redeye flight back to JFK went quick as a could be. I had 3 seats to myself and I think I fell asleep before we took off and didn’t wake up until the landing announcement. Thanks jetBlue and the great pilots, I needed the sleep!
I have to admit, it is extremely hard to explain to a complete stranger that you are in the middle of a charity project to raise money for children in Zambia…while you are lying on the beach in Aruba!
I ended up getting onto an earlier flight than originally planned, so that allowed me to get into Aruba early and spend most of the afternoon enjoying the beach. I grabbed some fresh fish tacos from a local vendor on the beach…best I have ever had!. Then I headed straight to the crystal blue water.
After only 5 days of nonstop travel and little sleep, I was extremely tired. I checked into the Aruba Marriott (great deal on priceline.com) and got a great nights sleep. It was an amazingly restful night.
In the morning, I woke up, went for a nice run on the beach and then had to pack up and head to the airport. No time to waste…30DaysOnJetBlue must continue!
Today was an amazing day. After arriving late into JFK I just barely (close…really close!) made my flight to Richmond. This was the shortest connection time of my entire 30 day trip…and i made it, even when the plane was late!
I made it into Richmond with no prob
lems. When i arrived, I was greeted by Shirl, Danny and Ryan. There were there to take some video footage for Orphans Promise. They were great. I am not very comfortable in from of a camera, but they really helped make it easier. During the day, they took me to see several of the sights in Richmond. I had the opportunity to talk to a bunch of people about the school in Zambia and how I was using 30DaysOnJetBlue to help. The footage that they took should be aired on abc-Family next Friday at 9:30 eastern. I will get you more information in the next few days. Please just promise not to make fun of me too much when you watch it
! Thanks again to Shirl, Ryan and Danny, I really appreciate all the time and effort you took to make it a great day!
After saying good by to everyone, i got back on the plane and headed back to New York. Our flight was delayed quite a bit due to the bad weather in the NY area. JetBlue once again impressed me by providing drinks and snacks at the gate while we were waiting. On the plane, we were taken very good care of, by Paul and Elise…Thanks!
Thursday was a LONG day. I flew on a red-eye from Salt Lake City and arrived in New York early in the morning. I
decided to head into the city and check out some of the sights. I made it to Manhattan and wondered around. Lots of activity with the kick of for NY Fashion Week. Many of the stores had live models in the windows. After hitting Time Square and few other tourist spots I headed back to JFK to make my flight to Phoenix. While waiting at T5 I ran into a few other “all you can jet”ers. I was able to catch up on a few peoples stories of their adventures so far. It was great to see Morgan again too (otherwise known as Mr. @JetBlue).
My flight to Phoenix was the best customer service so far on jetBlue. Thanks!
After a short stay in Phoenix, it was time to head back to NY on the redeye. Finally was able to get some sleep. I think I just reached a point where I was so tired that I was able to sleep under any circumstance!
I Had a great day in Salt Lake City, UT. I arrive fairly early in the morning and took the bus into the downtown. the only problem I encountered was that there was no place I could find to store my backpack. So, I ended up lugging around my giant back pack and my netbook laptop too. Other than that, everything went great. Found my way around very easily. Walked through the morman tabernacle area and then grabbed a bite to eat at a little outdoor cafe. The city is surrounded by beautiful mountains. If I had more time, I would have loved to the opportunity to go hiking.
I ended up meeting a guy named Arie. he is biking across the United States. Pretty crazy!
He makes my trip look like a piece of cake! He is going solo and plans to camp out for most of the trip. I wish him all the best!
I saw Joe Namath at JFK airport in New York. For those of you that don’t know, Joe Namath is a Hall Of Fame football quarterback that used to play for the NY Jets. I know you will laugh at me for saying this, but he really is a lot smaller than I expected him to be! Guess we all shrink a little when we get older. I will keep you up to date with any random celeb/famous sightings over the course of the journey.
30daysonjetblue.com got a mention in a CNN.com article today. I did not even realize this, but Jeff just pointed it out…The kids in Zambia even got a photo on CNN.com and picture credit!
If you look at the picture on the top of the article, there is an arrow that will take you to picture #2.
Take a look and let me know what you think!

Orphans Promise and 30DaysOnJetBlue.com got a little face time with the JetBlue CEO today. Dave Barger (CEO) and Marty St George (SVP of marketing) stopped by to say hi to us while I was waiting for my flight to Long Beach, CA.
The journey has started! I was greeted by jetblue with this friendly sign at ohare thus morning!
